| The drinking water quality testing campaign which was initiated in October 2008 is being scaled up to cover all districts of the State. The campaign was conducted in Panchmahals, Dahod and Vadodara districts during November 2008.
The campaign lasts for a week or so in each district, wherein water testing teams are formed and equipped with quality testing equipments and IEC materials. Mobile vans are being used to cover more villages and places. The teams plan a route in a taluka and make halts at number of villages and at taluka headquarters where Gram Panchayats, other institutions and people bring samples of drinking water used by them from various sources. The water is tested in a demonstration on the spot and other samples are being taken by the team to test them later on. All the samples are being tested free of any charge.
To make the campaign more popular and to spread the awareness, advertisements in local newspapers, use of specially made banners and posters and use of scrolls in local T.V. broadcast are some of the mediums being used.
