The community-managed development of
water and sanitation programme is being implemented to restore
and develop water supply and sanitation facilities in 1260
earthquake affected villages spread across 27 talukas in four
districts i.e. Jamnagar, Kutch, Patan and Surendranagar of
Gujarat state.
The programme was introduced in all the
1,260 programme villages. Pani Samitis based on the Government
Resolution with adequate representation from all sections of
society and women as well were formed in 1251 villages. Detailed
VAPs were prepared for 1231 of 1,260 programme villages. Of
these, 1229 VAPs were finalised and work has started in 1163
villages.
