The IEC campaign included slogans and pictures painted on walls at public places in all the villages, distribution of booklets, competitions on environmental sanitation, solid waste disposal and cleanliness drive campaigns. Meetings were held in in gram sabhas and women’s groups in all the villages to discuss issues related to importance of health and hygiene and to adopt project activities. Mass awareness campaigns that included workshops, fairs, village cleaning drives, training programmes, group meetings, street plays, exposure visits and competitions were organised.

 
Capacity Building
 

Several capacity building exercises were carried out. They included exposure visits by pani samiti members, motivational, training and monitoring workshops, seminars and meetings.
