Apart from its own units, WASMO also
enlists the support of several local NGOs to implement its
projects. These Implementation Support Agencies (ISAs) assist in
the formation of village level community organisations such as
pani samitis and capacity building through support and
guidance.
The primary responsibilities of the ISAs
are:
Community mobilisation
Institution-building by
forming pani samitis
Training community members
and preparing them for operation and maintenance,
account-keeping and water resource management
Promotion of sanitation and
hygiene
Providing support to
paani samiti in construction of facilities
