WASMO's motto is "Building partnerships and working together". To this end, it promotes an all-inclusive method of action, cooperating with various government and non government bodies, pooling resources and experimenting with new ideas and innovations. Thus, WASMO's partners range from village level panchayati raj institutions (PRis), civil society, Implementation Support Agencies (ISAs) such as NGOs and international organisations to government organisations such as the Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board (GWSSB) and Gujarat Water Infrastructure Limited (GWIL). The partnerships are for various purposes, such as funding, training, technical assistance, campaigns and village level implementation, etc.
